lot's of people will agree with me on this. if you want to live a good life in india you need to be either in software/ IT , Finance or u need to own a established business. everyone else is struggling to make their ends meet . some people are just a pay check away from being homeless and hungry

I've been looking for jobs in the manufacturing industry, all jobs demand experience yet these companies don't come for campus placements. It's very hard to get a job off campus. Some of these companies are also looking for fresher mechanical engineers with experience of SAP (business software), multiple programming languages, lots of IT and mechanical engineering knowledge and experience in the industry they work in. That's only possible if you interned in companies in the same industry, very few people are that lucky.

Can confirm, I work with graphic designers and they barely pay the experienced guys what they deserve. They're expected to have high level understanding of multiple software while also being encouraged to go into video editing/animations… and the pay does not increase.

Good on you for shooting down the "offer". I've given a lot of time and effort to my current company and gone above and beyond several times… but I have no money to show for it. Just empty accolades. I refuse to give them more of my time outside my work hours.

Have tried freelancing before, but with Indian clients. Most want to pay peanuts and the one I was contracted to work for a month-ish ended up working for much longer, mainly because their requirements kept changing over and over.

Can vouch. Pay is peanuts for the work put in. Big mistake to not try do CE instead of Mech.
